Its beautifully designed spaces, all opening out into the inimitable landscape of the Limpopo bushveld. Ensuring the relationship with its natural environment is nurtured in the narrative, allowing the light to flood through the open doors and windows of the home. The interiors are quirky and colourful, yet refined and sophisticated. Catering to a discerning crowd that revels in the simplicity and laidback way of bush life. Its two gorgeous ensuite bedrooms overlook the Waterberg mountains of the Marakele and Marataba National Parks. The main ensuite offering both indoor and outdoor showers for that extra connection to nature. A fabulous kitchen harnessing the entertaining spaces of the house where you can gather and feast, taking in the magnificent views of the valley. There’s a secluded fenced-off garden if you’d like to bring your furry friend along for the holiday too. Two lovely, spacious outdoor decks with dining and cooking areas, a swimming pool and a kolkol. And all of the perfect little pockets of reclining spaces that endorse those moments of rest, relaxation and reflection. Doing what we know is best, when immersed in the sublime African bush.

As well as savouring the peace and inspiration of The Blogck House’s surroundings, you’ll have access to 70 hectares of uncultivated bushveld, where golden wildebeest, giraffe, kudu, nyala, sable and impala – to list but a few – freely roam. At times you can hear the lion roaring across the valley. The property borders the 23,000-hectared neighbouring National Parks, with the Lapalala River running through it. You can arrange to have guided sunrise or sunset drives, or self-drive from the entrance into the national park that’s only 5kms away. Pack your picnics and beverages and head off for a day’s adventure in the wilderness.
On the days that you don’t feel like cooking, meals can be arranged at the pop-up restaurant on the property, where a set menu will be served, with all of your dietary requirements catered for, prior to your confirmation. What we love!
- The views are absolutely spectacular and can be enjoyed from all parts of the house.
- Whilst the Marakele and Marataba Parks are adjacent the property, there are a number of beautiful, scenic walks and picnic spots to explore within the 70 hectares of Cypiro Lodge.
- Early morning hot showers in the open, taking in the fresh air and peaceful sounds of the bush.
- You are at liberty to walk freely, at your leisure, rest assured that the antelope will not harm you and all of the walking trails are perfectly safe.
- With over Birdlife is 410 different bird species, the birdlife is prolific, including the largest colony of vultures that make for dramatic flights above the property.
What you need to know…
- The town of Thabazimbi is only 10 – 15 minutes away. It has all of the necessary shops and convenience stores for you to stock up on everything you’ll need for the duration of your stay.
- Please note – you don’t need a 4×4 to access the property, but a low clearance car with spoilers is not advisable. The reception for all guests arriving will be at the Hacienda.
- You are welcome to arrange guided and self-drive game drives within the national park that’s only a 5-minute drive away from the House.
- The property is self-catering with the aid of daily house-keeping to assist with the cleaning and tending to the chores we’d rather not when on holiday.
- The lodge no longer offers horse rides. There are guided night walks available around full moon and outside the snake season – ie. During winter time.
