We love working with brands that epitomise easy living with effortless style and no one does this better than Weylandts. The lifestyle company started in Namibia in 1964 has grown through the decades to offer uncompromising, elegant and timeless pieces inspired by nature and a unique African outlook.
Whether it’s an ultra-modern minimalist pad or a layered, lived-in farmhouse Weylandts continues to add a ‘wow’ factor to so many of our Perfect Hideaways. As testament we are delighted to have provided the perfect backdrop, Stone House in Hermanus, for their Nature-Inspired Living Collection campaign.
Carefully rooted in its breath-taking surroundings on the cliffs of Hermanus, Stone House seemed destined to showcase this inspiring new collection of furniture and homeware. With the 2021 Nature-Inspired Living collection, Weylandts celebrates nature in a series of moments, each reflecting on raw, natural beauty and timeless design for a slower way of living.
Scroll further and you’ll discover exactly how nature-inspired the homeware in this collection really is. From the exceptionally crafted Chola Cubi Vases that echo the veined detail of a kelp forest, to the Magma crockery range that appears to have been forged along with the rock formations surrounding Stone House.
Through this celebration of richness in design coup-led with the textural comfort of natural materials, this collection illustrates Weylandts products’ versatility. It isn’t one look, but rather, thought-through design that seamlessly complements and translates into a multitude of living aesthetics.
As a further testament to this versatility in beautiful living, here are some hideaways featuring iconic Weylandts furniture pieces.
As perhaps the quintessential embodiment of the Weylandts aesthetic, Maison in Franschhoek is also home to the esteemed founders of Weylandts. Maison features a candid curation of signature Weylandts furniture pieces that sit alongside artworks and sentimental antique collections.
Establishing a symbiotic dialogue between the interior and exterior, Synergy Tree House features two Steamer loungers, leather Swivel occasional chairs, and an Aviator Tomcat chair from Weylandts. Raw natural materials are tastefully used throughout, complemented by an array of Weylandts furniture such as the Kona dining table with its surrounding Punto chairs. This tranquil hideaway is unobtrusive to its surrounding vegetation, while remaining true to the essence of luxury.
Situated on the South side of Yzerfontein, this idyllic haven, known as At Olive Beach House, is immersed within its natural surroundings and occupies a magnificent stretch of oceanic splendour. Here, you can enjoy the views from the comfort of a Weylandts Barcelona sun lounger on the deck, or an Alexis sofa in the lounge. The bedroom also features the iconic Spati four-poster bed from Weylandts.
As far as desirability goes, Azure in Dwarskersbos will be at the top of the list when it comes to positioning on the beach. Spacious and intuitively laid out, this magnificent villa’s lounge features the (fittingly named) Nest occasional chairs from Weylandts.
Llandudno evokes Mediterranean living by the sea and The Blue House – perched above a milkwood forest and split over three levels – is an extension of this aesthetic serenity. The spacious living area which opens onto the deck includes a Ring Wood Coffee Table and Side Table from Weylandts, complemented by their Teak Root Dining table in the open plan kitchen-dining area.
Casa Blu’ is as close to the beach as you can get. This contemporary iteration of a fisherman’s cottage in Dwarskersbos allows you to enjoy ocean views from every room. And what better perch to enjoy these views from than the space’s assortment of Weylandts chairs?
From the Industrial Counter Stools in the open-plan kitchen, the Horn dining chairs in the dining room, the Helen rocking chair in the living room, or Steamer loungers on the shady stoep, there are plenty of seating options.
Overlooking the tidal lagoons of Plettenberg Bay, Dune House is a masterclass in laidback luxury. The pergola features two Weylandts Kai Pod Chairs to enjoy a sundowner from or enjoy the scenery and savour a moment of reflection from one of their Zanzibar loungers.
The holy grail of holiday houses, Perivoli Lagoon House, is an unspoilt coastal sanctuary on the edge of Kleinriver Lagoon on the southern, quieter side of Hermanus. It seems fitting that this haven’s contemporary interior features a Nexa dining table, Mondu modular sofa, Bamileke stool, Lexi armchair and footstool, and Portifino sofa from Weylandts.
Right on the water’s edge in Betty’s Bay – a synonym for relaxation in the Cape – Lemuria’s contemporary interior features a Cubist sofa, an organic Munggur coffee table, and Bamileke side tables from Weylandts in a single setting. This design choice is testament to how Weylandts pieces can be applied to an array of interior design sensibilities.
Revealing its contemporary curves and white-washed brick facade with integrity and understated splendour, STIL. in Montagu features a Spati Slatted bed and a Trace Dining chair from Weyalndts.
As a contemporary, minimalist statement, The Aven in Camps Bay features Weylandts’ Square Lounge chairs and Rod Coffee Tables in one of its outdoor entertainment areas.
