The Cove otherwise known as the James Bond house is just a thrill to stay in!
Designed by Greg Truen of Stefan Antoni Olmesdahl Truen Associates.
As you take your first step onto the landing at The Cove the cinematic eagle eye views of the Knysna Cliffs stretch out before you, framed by the raw granite, grappa wooden decks, plus a skimpy, sleek 36m black lap pool is simply magnificent.
As you slowly make your entrance down the staircase eyeing the drama of the sea battering the cliffs far, far below you have a soaring sense of freedom – the front of the house is entirely glass, no shutters, no blinds just sheets of reinforced glass which opens up to the elements.
Plush carpeting underfoot in each of the four bedroom suites demarcates the sleeping area from the general living areas and if you need to cocoon, draw the thick taupe coloured linen drapes around your bed. Each of the four suites have their own free standing bath, shower and low cushy sofa in front of a plasma TV screen and the magnificent views.
There is a neat black fully equipped modern minimal kitchen with gorgeous granite tops, 12 seater contemporary glass dining table and those classic James Bond vistas where you half expect the helicopter to pop into frame right in front of you.
The Cove lives up to its name and down 274 sheer steps you will find this exclusive beach surrounded by an indigenous milkwood forest its great for body surfing and skinny dipping (think Halle Berry) or meander off to play a clifftop game of golf! The pretty town of Knysna, the forests, the lagoon, the famous oysters and champagne is ten minutes away for all your restaurant, boating, exploring days and of course you have access to the facilities at the hotel.
The evenings bring a whole new experience with the house when the LED’s twinkle everywhere including lighting up the cove far below – A truly sensational escape from reality!
