The San camp is set up amongst the palm trees on the edge of the Makgakgadi pans of Botswana, is one of the most romantic places to stay in Southern Africa. The millions of stars at night feel like a blanket above you and the days are filled with adventure exploring the vast white salt pans under that impossibly blue sky. Fossils of great zebra and wildbeest migrations can be found (and left) for others to see. Baobab trees to admire. The remoteness of the pans where you can see for miles and miles with no outcrops, no grass, no features, not trees just a vastness, it is so special. There are six white canvas 1940’s style safari tents with bucket showers, four poster beds, mosquito nets and paraffin lamps lighting your way. Wonderful fresh menus ensure you have the most fabulous bush experience also meeting the desert animals such as Meerkats, the brown hyena, the very shy Aardvark, Gemsbok and Springboks. You will really feel straight ‘out of Africa’ and long to return time and time again to this special camp.
It is a semi permanent camp which is set up every dry season
